As part of TasWater’s commitment to improving water services across Tasmania, we’re upgrading the Bracknell Water Treatment Plant to deliver more reliable water pressure and better service for the local community.
What’s happening
We’re upgrading the water treatment plant to improve the water pressure for the Bracknell community.
This project is part of TasWater’s ongoing commitment to improve water infrastructure across Tasmania, ensuring our customers continue to receive a reliable water supply.
Why this work is needed
This upgrade will improve our ability to increase the water pressure delivered through our network to the local Bracknell community.

Location: The Bracknell Water Treatment Plant on Jane Street, Bracknell
- Work is scheduled to begin in early December 2025 and take approximately eight weeks to complete
- Work hours will be between 7 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday, weather permitting
What to expect
During work, you may notice:
- Extra workers, vehicles, and some heavy machinery are in the area around the treatment plant.

- We will notify customers in advance of any water supply interruptions required during the project.
We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we complete this essential upgrade for Bracknell’s water network.

Upcoming water supply interruption
There will be a planned water supply interruption to properties in Bracknell on Tuesday, 16 December 2025 from 10am until 3pm.
This interruption is required to undertake work on the network connections as part of the Bracknell Water Treatment Plant upgrade. We will notify affected properties directly in advance of this interruption.
We understand supply interruptions can be disruptive to our customers and appreciate your understanding as we undertake this important work.
