What’s this project all about?

We’re upgrading Campbell Town’s water network to improve water pressure, fire safety, and water quality for the local community.

This essential upgrade includes installing new pipelines and replacing aging infrastructure to meet Campbell Town’s long-term water needs.

The next stage of works involves replacing approximately 350 metres of old water main along High Street (Midland Highway). The new pipeline will be installed within the nature strip between the road and property boundaries, from New Street to Montagu Street.

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, 17 November 2025 and expected to take around eight to ten weeks to complete.

Work hours will be Monday to Friday, between 7am and 6pm, weather permitting.

What will you notice during the works?

We understand that construction works can be disruptive. Our contractors will be working to minimise disruptions to the community, but during construction you may notice:

  • Excavators digging trenches in the nature strip and road reserve
  • Increased contractor and TasWater vehicles and crews in the area
  • A temporary increase in construction noise, including power tools, vacuum trucks and heavy machinery
  • Temporary changes to on-street parking availability
  • Traffic management will be in place to ensure the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians through the work zone.

Customers will be notified if any water supply interruptions are expected.

Supporting a Stronger System - Together

We want to sincerely thank the Campbell Town community for your continued patience throughout this important project. Your support has helped us progress safely and efficiently through these complex upgrades.

Every step brings us closer to delivering the improved water network your town deserves.
