We’re upgrading the water network along Clarence Street, Bellerive, to improve service reliability and reduce the risk of leaks and breakages.
This project is part of TasWater’s ongoing commitment to improve water infrastructure across Tasmania, ensuring our customers continue to receive a safe and reliable water supply.
What’s happening
Before we install the new water main, our crews will carry out ground investigation works using a vacuum truck. This helps us safely locate existing underground services before construction begins.
Once investigations are complete, we’ll move on to installing the new water main.
Why this work is needed
The existing water main in Clarence Street has been prone to leaks and breakages.
Replacing it will help improve:
- The reliability of your water service
- The quality of water supplied to local homes and businesses
- The efficiency of the network reduces maintenance and repair needs in the future
Where and when
Location: Clarence Street, Bellerive – between Derwent Street and River Street, on the Ninja Stadium side of the street.
- Investigation works: Starting Monday, 3 November 2025, running for around four days, between 7 am and 5 pm.
- Water main installation: Beginning mid-November 2025 and continuing through to early 2026.
- No works are planned between Wednesday, 24 December 2025 and Monday, 5 January 2026.
What to expect
During work, you may notice:
- Crews, vehicles, and equipment in the area
- Some noise from machinery (vacuum trucks and excavators)
- Minor and temporary changes to traffic movements and on-street parking
- Traffic management is in place to keep everyone safe
- Property access is maintained at all times
There will be no interruption to your water supply until the work is completed, and you are transferred to the new infrastructure. Times and dates for any outages will be provided in advance.
We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we complete this essential upgrade for Bellerive’s water network.
