Overview
What's this project all about?
As part of our commitment to improve water infrastructure throughout the state, we have renewed the water main along part of Frederick Street, Launceston.
Approximately 110 meters of the existing water main along Frederick Street, between Charles Street and St John Street, located adjacent to Princes Square, were replaced as part of this project.
Why was this work needed?
The existing water main along Frederick Street had been
gradually deteriorating. Renewing this section helps prevent potential
failures, maintain stable water pressure, and ensure high quality water is
consistently provided to residents and businesses.
Construction Update - Works completed
The renewed section of water main along Frederick Street is now fully operational. All services and properties have been connected, and the reinstatement of the road is complete.
Works were successfully completed on schedule with the project involving significant traffic management due to Frederick Street being a major thoroughfare in the Launceston CBD and several events taking place in Princes Square. The upgrade was completed with minimal disruption to residents and local businesses.
We would like to thank local residents in the area for their patience and understanding while we undertook this important upgrade project.
