What's this project all about?

As part of our Linear Renewals Program, we’re undertaking a major upgrade of over 11 kilometres of aging water mains across the Glenorchy area. This significant investment will be rolled out over five years, with works taking place in Berriedale, Claremont, Moonah, and Glenorchy.

We’re targeting sections of pipeline that have been prone to frequent breaks and bursts in recent years, which have too often disrupted homes and businesses. By replacing these vulnerable sections, we’re reducing the risk of unexpected outages and improving water pressure and quality for thousands of residents.

This program of upgrades will support the growth of the Glenorchy area by ensuring a reliable, consistent water supply for years to come.

What to expect during the work.

Our crews will primarily work in residential streets. We know roadworks can be disruptive, so we’re committed to minimising inconvenience wherever possible.

When we’re working near your home or business, you may notice:

  • Traffic management and detours to keep everyone safe
  • Some noise and dust from excavation and construction activities
  • Temporary service interruptions, though we’ll keep these as brief as we can and let you know in advance.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to build a stronger, more reliable water network for Glenorchy.
