What's this project all about?

The Horsehead Creek Sewage Pump Station (SPS) plays a vital role in the Devonport Sewerage Scheme and is currently undergoing essential upgrades. These works include replacing and installing new pumps to improve the performance of the system.

In addition to enhancing functionality, the upgrades are designed to deliver better environmental outcomes by reducing the risk of overflows and supporting the local community’s needs.

Community Impacts

Temporary closure of the RV Dump Point

For public safety, the RV Dump Point at Horsehead Creek SPS will be temporarily closed during these works. The closure will remain in place until the project is completed, which is expected by June 2025.

What to expect during the works

We are committed to minimising disruptions to the community, but you may notice some temporary impacts, including:

• Increased vehicle movements on Devonport Road
• Noise from excavation work
• Dust
• Occasional odours associated with the sewer system

Unfortunately, these impacts are unavoidable during construction.
