What's this project all about?

As part of our commitment to improve water infrastructure throughout the state, we will be replacing the existing aging water main in Kelly Street, Battery Point.

The existing cast iron water main was installed in the early 1940’s. Over the last few years this main has shown signs of deterioration, resulting in occasional water quality issues for locals.

This project will involve replacing the older is main along Kelly Street with a new PVC water main.

During construction there will be temporary impacts to some local on street parking for periods of time, as well as potential changes to access in and out of Kelly Street.

The area is a recognised tourist destination, and we will ensure the appropriate traffic management in place, and we will provide advance communications to residents, businesses and the wider area before and during major works.

Major works are planned to commence in February 2025.
