What’s this project all about?

As part of TasWater’s commitment to investing in new and improved water infrastructure, we will be installing a new water main along Doyle Avenue, between Haig Street and McCann Crescent. This work has been prioritised following a number of bursts in recent years.

Between Monday 7th April and late May 2025, our contractors will be installing the new water main pipe along the road and then reconnecting services.

Work hours will be between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

What will you notice during our works?

Our contractors will be working to minimise disruptions to the community, but during construction you may notice:

  • Excavators digging trenches in the footpath and road reserve
  • Trucks delivering new pipes and moving soil
  • More work vehicles and crews in the area
  • A temporary increase in construction noise
  • Temporary adjustments to Metro bus routes and/or bus stop locations
  • Traffic controllers will be on-site to minimise impacts to local traffic, manage safety and maintain access to properties.
  • There will be one water supply interruption to limited properties as we connect the new pipeline to the existing system. Affected properties will be notified in advance once the dates are known.
