What's this project all about?

As part of our commitment to investing in new and improved infrastructure projects across Tasmania, we are upgrading the Old Beach Boat Ramp Sewage Pump Station (SPS), situated on Jetty Road, Old Beach.

This project is being delivered to improve environmental outcomes for the community of Old Beach by reducing the risk of overflows to the environment. The project will include the replacement of pipework from both pumps within the SPS, and installation of a new valve pit, valves, and flowmeter.

What you will notice during our works?

There will be construction activity around the location of the Old Beach Boat Ramp Sewage Pump Station (SPS) including excavation, truck movements, heavy equipment, service vehicles, and workers.

Most work will take place weekdays Monday to Friday, and we have targeted times outside the peak summer and holiday periods, where possible. Increased odour may be experienced during the works.

During construction, access to the boat ramp and jetty will be restricted on weekdays including closure of the car park. There may be traffic management in place redirecting pedestrian and cycle traffic using the Old Beach Foreshore Trail and we will endeavour to keep you updated on these restrictions as they change.

We ask you to follow all signage and directions and thank you for helping to keep our people safe as they complete this essential work.

We will make every effort to reduce our impact on the surrounding community, and it is our hope that locals will understand there will be some short-term disruption to deliver a long-term benefit.
