Ranelagh Water Main Renewal - Construction Update

17 June 2025

We’re pleased to share that work is progressing well on the Marguerite Street and Lollara Road water main upgrade. So far, we’ve installed 800 metres of the total 1,035 metres of new pipeline—a significant step towards delivering a more reliable water supply for the Ranelagh community.

As with any major upgrade to ageing infrastructure, we’ve faced a few challenges along the way. Breaks in sections of the old water main have meant our crews have had to make some tricky adjustments to keep both the construction work and local water supply running as smoothly as possible.

In some areas, we’ve already brought new sections of pipeline online early to help minimise any impact.

We’re grateful for the community’s patience and understanding while our crews safely manage these unexpected issues.

The project remains on track for completion by August 2025. Once complete, it will provide a stronger, more reliable water service for Ranelagh for years to come.

Some minor traffic delays, increased vehicle movements, and construction noise will continue as we move towards completion. We’ll continue to keep residents updated on any changes to access or upcoming water service interruptions.

Thank you to the Ranelagh community for your ongoing support while we deliver these important works.
