What's this project all about?
TasWater is reinstating the pathway between Amelia Street and Seaview Avenue in Burnie following a recent water main burst that caused a landslip and damage to the surrounding area.
To restore safe access for the community, we’ll be undertaking construction works to rebuild the pathway and cap the existing water main located beneath it. These works will help prevent further bursts and reduce the risk of future landslips.
For the safety of the community and our crews, the area will remain closed to the public while repairs are underway. We appreciate the community’s patience while we complete this important work.
Works will take place from Monday, 10th of November 2025 between the hours of 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday for approximately 4 weeks weather permitting.
What to expect during the works
Our contractor, Shaw Contracting will be taking steps to ensure that disruptions to residents are kept to a minimum, but you may notice some temporary impacts including:
- Construction noise
- Temporary access restrictions to some properties and limited on-street parking. Our crew will work with affected residents to minimise inconvenience.
- Increased vehicle and crew activity, including trucks and contractor vehicles.
- Constructions works along the pathway.
