Blinking Billy Kick Off

17 July 2025

Coming soon to Sandy Bay, Blinking Billy gets a bold new look! We’re excited to announce the next chapter in TasWater’s award-winning Asset Art Program: a vibrant mural at the Blinking Billy Sewage Pump Station, kicking off this October.

Led by emerging Tasmanian artists Kate Deane and Shiloh Quilliam, and mentored by local artist Bec Adamczewski, the project will transform this essential piece of infrastructure into a powerful canvas for healthy waterways and local pride.

The mural will celebrate the deep connection between our community and the marine environment that surrounds Lutruwita/ Tasmania, waters that have sustained life for thousands of generations and now face challenges from climate change.

This is more than just art, it’s a platform for young voices, creative expression, and a shared commitment to protecting our environment.

[Thank you to the Youth Arts & Recreation Centre for letting us use your space for the ideas sharing workshop, with the amazing artwork by Jamin in the background!]
