The new switch room for the upgraded Our Park Sewage Pump Station is the next installation as part of our award-winning Asset Art program.

In recognition that the pump station is in an area highly valued by Orford residents and visitors, we look forward to involving the community in this exciting project.

In collaboration with Tasmanian artist Bec Adamczewski, we invite the community to vote on the key theme for this project, and the final design.

Our Park

The Orford Sewage Network Upgrade is being implemented to mitigate overflow issues, enhance the reliability of infrastructure, and improve environmental outcomes. The project is on schedule for completion by mid-2025.

Our Park is one of five sewage pump stations in Orford undergoing upgrades, which include the installation of new underground emergency storage tanks and pumps. To eliminate odours, new rubber seals will be added around the wet well. Additionally, electrical upgrades, improved lighting, and enhanced vehicle access will allow for quicker emergency response times.

We recognise that the construction of new structures may temporarily affect the visual appeal of Our Park for both residents and visitors. Through the Asset Art Program, we aim to create a mural that the local community can take pride in.

Since creation, the palawa have lived here in lutruwita - Tasmania. Over 2,000 generations of Aboriginal families have cared for this Country, looking after its lands, seas, skies and waterways.

In the spirit of respect and gratitude, TasWater acknowledges the Tasmanian Aboriginal community as the traditional and ongoing custodians. We pay our respects to them, their culture and to elders past and present. We also acknowledge any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are here with us today.

TasWater commits to working collaboratively and respectfully with the Tasmanian Aboriginal community to protect and sustain the precious resources on this ancient land for future generations.
