Wade Bridge Sewage Pump Station – Final Stages and Remediation Works

19 March 2025

We’re pleased to share that the Wade Bridge Sewage Pump Station is nearing completion, with commissioning set to take place soon. As we reach the final stages, TasWater will begin remediation works along the foreshore to restore and enhance the area. All works are expected to be completed by mid-April 2025.

What’s Happening?

From Tuesday, 25 March to Tuesday, 8 April 2025, TasWater will carry out remediation on the vehicular access track along the foreshore between 49 West Shelly Road and Wade Bridge SPS. Work will occur Monday to Friday, with the access track remaining open on weekends.

Access & Safety

To ensure the safety of the community and our team, access to the foreshore will be restricted on weekdays, including early mornings and evenings. The track will remain fully open on weekend

What the Works Involve

Vehicular Access Track

  • Maintaining a 3-metre base along most of the track, with 4-metre-wide sections at both ends for safe turning.
  • The appearance of the track will be remediated to maintain a natural look. This includes installing a layer of brown gravel to a width of 2.5 metres along straight sections, and 3.5 metres at both ends. The remaining areas will be treated with topsoil and grass seed.
  • Shaping the beach side of the track to better blend in with the environment by installing a loam layer with grass seed.

Foreshore Access

  • A small pedestrian path (2m long) will be installed to maintain community access.
  • Glamorgan Spring Bay Council will review the path for local resident vehicle accessibility (boat sheds only) and make minor modifications if needed.

We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation throughout the Orford Sewerage Network Upgrade. These final works will help restore the foreshore while ensuring safe and functional access for all.
