Queenstown Water Main Renewal Project Complete for 2025

5 September 2025

We’re pleased to share that the Queenstown Water Main Renewal Project has reached a major milestone, with remediation works now complete and crews preparing to demobilise from site for the rest of 2025. This marks the successful delivery of the original scope under this program of works that will support safe and reliable drinking water for the Queenstown community well into the future.

A town-wide effort

Across the past stages of the program, water mains have been renewed throughout much of Queenstown. 2025 saw the completion of stages 4 and 5, which included upgrades in Henry Street, Urquhart Street, Grafton Street, Pillinger Street, Douglas Street, Braddon Street, O’Halloran Court, Conlan Street, Murray Street, Lynchford Road, Mathew Street and Bury Street. We also saw the completion of additional works on Jenico Street, Little Hunter Street, Denison Street, Du Cane Street, Cutten Street and Philip Street.

We’d like to thank the community for their patience while these important works were carried out. We know road closures and construction can be disruptive, and your cooperation has made it possible to complete the program safely and on schedule.

Crews demobilising – but we’ll be back

With restoration and remediation now finished, crews have begun demobilising from Queenstown and are not planning to return for the remainder of 2025. While this stage is complete, our work in Queenstown is not over yet!

We will be back in early 2026 to complete some sewer main replacements and continue upgrading the town’s water network. These next works will build on what has already been achieved and ensure Queenstown’s water networks remains strong and reliable for years to come.

Thank you

We’re proud to have worked alongside the Queenstown community throughout this stage of the program. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we’ve delivered these essential works — and we look forward to returning in 2026 to continue investing in Queenstown’s future.
