17 December 2025

As part of TasWater’s commitment to a better water future for all Tasmanians, we’re investing in significant improvements to water capacity and supply across our regional towns. We’re continuing to make great progress on the Regional Towns Water Supply Program, helping to deliver safe, reliable drinking water for more Tasmanians.

Better Water for Bothwell and Oatlands
Bothwell Water Treatment Plant Replacement Project
  • Construction is now underway on a brand-new water treatment facility to replace ageing infrastructure in Bothwell.
  • The project includes a connection to the Southern Highlands Irrigation Scheme and expanded storage capacity, delivering better water quality and improved water security for Bothwell, as well as supporting the surrounding agricultural community.

What to expect during construction
During works, community members may notice increased heavy vehicle movements, construction noise and temporary traffic arrangements as required.

Please follow all signage and directions in place to help keep the community and our people safe while this essential work is completed.

These upgrades are part of our ongoing commitment to delivering better water for regional Tasmania. We’ll continue to keep you informed as we reach key milestones in each town.
