Regional Towns Water Supply Program – Construction Update May 2025

16 May 2025

We’re making great progress on the Regional Towns Water Supply Program, helping to deliver safe, reliable drinking water for more Tasmanians.

  • New reservoir completed at Tullah: Tullah now has a new water storage reservoir, boosting supply capacity and helping meet the town’s future needs.
  • Pump station close to commissioning: A new water pump station between Fentonbury and Ellendale is nearly ready to go. Once commissioned, it will support the delivery of clean water through the new pipeline.
  • The pipeline is complete between Ellendale and Fentonbury: The construction of a new water pipeline connecting Ellendale to Fentonbury is finished. This pipeline will play a key role in improving water quality and supply reliability for the area.

Progress across other regional towns

  • Construction of a new reservoir at St Marys is nearing completion
  • Work is well underway on the additional reservoir at Dover
  • Preparations and approvals for a new reservoir at Franklin are progressing as planned
  • Preparation and approvals for the Bothwell and Oatlands Water Treatment Plants are well underway

These upgrades are part of our ongoing commitment to improving water services in regional Tasmania. We’ll continue to keep you informed as we reach key milestones in each town.
