Temporary pedestrian and bike detours are in place at the Regatta Grounds car park area while we construct a new section of sewer pipeline nearby.

To help people move safely through the area, we’ve installed additional wayfinding signage along the detour route. This includes simple diagrams to make the route easier to follow. The map below provides an overview of these arrangements.

We’ve also taken several steps to improve safety along the route, including:

• Installing safety flags near the black chains and the short gravel track section
• Working with the City of Hobart to add reflectors to the chains to improve visibility
• Installing a temporary lighting tower near the John Colvin Building to improve visibility in the area

We thank the community for their patience and understanding as access through the Regatta Grounds area is temporarily changed to complete these important works safely.

We expect to finish the bulk of construction by 31 March, after which normal access and parking arrangements will be restored.
