Road Closures - Domain Highway and Queens Walk Closures December 2025

We’re carrying out some final minor road works as part of the recently installed sewer pipeline. To complete these works safely and efficiently, temporary full and partial closures will be in place on the Domain Highway and Queens Walk between 13 and 15 December 2025.

Why

To apply the final road seal for the recently installed pipeline.

What’s happening
  • Domain Highway – Nighttime only. A single lane closure between the Tasman Bridge and the Brooker Highway. Single lane open for Glenorchy-bound traffic only. Tasman Bridge-bound lane closed.
  • Queens Walk – Full closure between Bellevue Parade and the Domain Highway

  • From Northern Suburbs to Tasman Bridge: Risdon Road → Brooker Highway → Tasman Highway via ABC Roundabout
  • From Northern Suburbs: Risdon Road → Brooker Highway

  • Queens Walk: Closed between Bellevue Parade and the Domain Highway
  • Domain Highway: Nighttime only. single-lane closure between the Tasman Bridge and Brooker Highway-single lane open for Glenorchy-bound traffic only
  • From Glenorchy: No access to the city via the Domain Highway during single lane closure – please detour via the Brooker Highway
  • From Northern Suburbs: Risdon Road → Brooker Highway
  • Access to the New Town Bay and Cornelian Bay areas: including Boathouse Restaurant, 10 Lives Cattery, the Rugby Oval, and the Cemetery via Brooker Highway → Risdon Road → Queens Walk
  • Allow up to 10 minutes of extra travel time when travelling through this area
  • Program subject to weather and ground conditions.
