As part of the next stage of the Selfs Point Sewer Transformation, sections of Queens Walk will be closed between the northern end of Cornelian Bay Oval and Selfs Point Road from Monday, 2 February to mid-March 2026.

What’s happening

As part of the works to install the new sewer pipeline, sections of Queens Walk near the housing complex will be temporarily closed.

During this work:

• No direct through access on Queens Walk between Selfs Point Road and the Domain Highway.
• Alternative access arrangements will be in place to provide direct access to the upper car park entrance to the housing complex

Plan your journey

• Queens Walk: No direct through access on Queens Walk between Selfs Point Road and the Domain Highway.
• Access to the New Town Bay area: including 10 Lives Cattery, Rugby Oval, and Cemetery via Brooker Highway → Risdon Road

• Access to Cornelian Bay: recreational areas & Boathouse Restaurant
  via Domain Highway / Queens Walk.

Please allow up to 10 minutes of extra travel time.

Key construction dates

• 2 February to mid-February – Closure 1 between the northern end of Cornelian Bay Oval and the upper car park at the housing complex.
• Mid- February to mid-March – Closure 2 between the intersection of Selfs Point/Cemetery roads and the upper car park at the housing complex.

Please note: Dates may change due to weather or ground conditions.

Hours of work

• Monday to Friday: 7 am–5 pm
• Saturday: 7 am–5 pm

What to expect

• No through access between Domain Highway and Selfs Point Road.
• Alternate access to the upper car park at the housing complex.
• Access via detours to New Town Bay and Cornelian Bay areas.
• Clear directional signage is in place. Please follow all signs and observe speed limits
