As part of the Selfs Point Sewer Transformation, we’re building a new 4.3-kilometre sewer pipeline to support Hobart’s growing community and help deliver a healthier Derwent.

To support the construction of the new sewer pipeline, the first of three sections along Lower Domain Road, between the Tasman Highway and Domain Highway, will be fully closed from 28 April through to late June 2025.

The first closure is between the Domain Highway and the bus turning bay (near the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens).

How will this closure affect you?

• Access changes - you can still reach key locations like the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and Government House.
• Parking changes – local parking spaces along Lower Domain Road may be impacted.
• Detours will be in place - please allow extra time. We have included a map with alternative routes to help plan your trip.

We understand these temporary changes may be inconvenient and will impact the daily lives of some residents and visitors. We appreciate your patience as we deliver this critical upgrade.
