TERHAP - City of Launceston Engineers site visit

6 May 2024

As part of the Tamar Estuary River Health Action Plan (TERHAP), we work closely with City of Launceston under the Launceston City Deal to deliver new sewerage infrastructure for the city, improving the health of kanamaluka/Tamar estuary and the environment that surrounds it.

Recently we hosted a group of the City’s Engineers to view the New Sewer Pipeline Project and hear firsthand from Andrew Truscott, Project Director and Dino Everts, Construction Manager about the progress of the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) technique.

The City’s Phil Bonney said it was amazing to see the HDD in action and hear from the project team how they have successfully completed the first of the two river crossings, with a 650-metre-long section of new pipe now in place 40 metres below the riverbed.
