FAQs

Open to Tasmanian primary and secondary schools, with entries submitted by teachers on behalf of their students.

Entries close 11:59pm (AEST), 12 June 2026.

Three (3) winning schools will each receive a basketball clinic run by Jack the Jumper from the Tasmania JackJumpers at their school.

To enter the competition, teacher should:

  1. Access 'Jack's 10 Litre Challenge' on TasWater's Your Say website.
  2. Upload a photo or link to a youtube video that demonstrates your student's water-saving tip.
  3. Add a short caption explaining your student's idea.
  4. Submit your student's entry.

Submissions must be made by those over 18 years of age. Teachers and school staff can submit on behalf of a student.

Yes. You can submit:

  • Maximum of 10 files
  • Maximum of 20mb file size
  • File types: PDF, Word Document, .png, .jpg, .gif, .jpeg

To submit multiple entries at once, we recommended:

  • Add you classes photos, captions and details to a word document. One page per entry makes it really clear for our team to understand.
  • Once you've added multiple student ideas in one document, upload to the form as a Word Document or PDF, as long as the file size is under the limit of 20mb.

We’re looking for original tips that help save water at home, in the garden, at school or in the community. Students' ideas could be:

  • A simple habit that makes a big difference
  • A creative way to reuse water
  • A clever gardening or household trick or hack
  • A behaviour change that’s worked for their family

Extra points for creativity. Your tip must be your own idea and not copied from another source.

Each entry must include both:

  • A photo or short video that demonstrates your tip
  • and a short caption explaining how it works.

Do not share

  • Personal information
  • Identities of people or students.
  • Content created by another person or organisation.

Yes. By entering, you give TasWater permission to use your photo or video for promotional purposes across our website, social media, and other channels. We’ll aim to credit you where possible.

Entries may be shared in TasWater’s social media channels, websites and communications channels – including Facebook and Instagram.

Since creation, the palawa have lived here in lutruwita - Tasmania. Over 2,000 generations of Aboriginal families have cared for this Country, looking after its lands, seas, skies and waterways.

In the spirit of respect and gratitude, TasWater acknowledges the Tasmanian Aboriginal community as the traditional and ongoing custodians. We pay our respects to them, their culture and to elders past and present. We also acknowledge any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are here with us today.
